RESUME:

Capture the wackys to use them against each other to protect the lab and don’t let the wackys destroy the energy source.

PERSONAL NOTE:

This game represents a lot. Igor and I were distant from the gamedev community at least for the past three years. WE LOVE VIDEOGAMES, but life sucks and its hard to follow your passion when there’s so much things in the adult life at same time.

But for this Ludum Dare we’ve made a promise to develop AND finish a game.

WE MADE IT.

ABOUT THE GAME:

After the announce of the theme, we have a discussion about what kind of game we’re able to prototype fast and make the player have a little fun. Inspired in titles that requires agility (party games like Overcooked) and roguelikes that we like (like Binding of Isaac), we have an idea to keep the representation of “Unstable” using those guys that we named “Wackys”.

After a lab accident, the Wackys begun to escape of their cages and make a complete mess in the laboratory. All the energy of the lab is controlled by three terminals that you have to defend.

In the experiments in the lab, scientists discovered that some Wackys can beat others.

The Blue Wackys defeats the Yellow Wackys. The Yellow Wackys defeats the the Red Wackys. And the Red Wackys defeat the Blue Wackys.

You have a gun to capture the wackys. But there’s many of them. So, to keep the laboratory stable, you have to use the Wackys against each other in order to keep the laboratory working.

Please, keep in mind that we’re only beginners. Almost all assets used in the game were from sites that distribute some assets for free (please see credits to see all details). ] For the UI elements, we’ve tried to make our best to keep the game in a mood of “Hapiness and TOTAL MADNESS”.

Since we have only 48h to complete it, there’s a lot of things to fix in order to make the game more fun and fair to the player. So, every feedback help us a lot to make our game better. Feel free to gave us your comment ;)
